Diclosan Emulgel
COMPOSITION
Each 100 g of Diclosan Emulgel contains: 1.16 g of diclofenac diethylamine as active substance, which is equivalent to 1 g diclofenac sodium.
DESCRIPTION
Diclosan Emulgel acts against pain and inflammation. Its water and alcohol content gives it a soothing and refreshing effect.
INDICATIONS
Diclosan Emulgel is used for the local treatment of pain and swelling caused by sports-related injuries or accidents such as sprains, bruises, strains, and back pain following sport activity or an accident. Diclosan Emulgel can also be used for local treatment of various rheumatic joint or muscle pain, e.g., stiffness in the shoulders and arthritis.
DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION
Adults and children over 12 years of age: Depending on the size of the painful area to be treated, gently rub Diclosan Emulgel 3 to 4 times a day. If you do not notice any improvement after one week or if your symptoms get worse, consult your doctor. Without a prescription, do not use Diclosan Emulgel for more than two weeks.
Children under 12 years of age: It is not recommended for use in children below 12 years.
RESTRICTION ON USE
Contraindications
Diclosan Emulgel should not be used if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to diclofenac (active substance) or to other substances that relieve pain and inflammation (in particular acetylsalicylic acid and ibuprofen), or if you are allergic to propylene glycol and isopropyl alcohol.
Among other symptoms, this hypersensitivity is usually manifested as: asthma, respiratory problems, rashes, urticaria, swelling of the face and tongue, and runny nose.
Precautions
- Diclosan Emulgel should not be used on an open wound (abrasion or cut), or on skin with a rash (eczema). It should also not be used for long periods on large areas of the body, except under a prescription from a doctor.
- Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. In case of contact, wash well with cold water and then notify the doctor or pharmacist if discomfort persists.
- Do not swallow this product for any reason.
Used in Pregnancy and Lactation
During pregnancy and breast-feeding, Diclosan Emulgel should not be used, unless specifically prescribed by a doctor. As a precaution, you should if possible avoid using medicinal products during pregnancy and breastfeeding, or ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
SIDE EFFECTS
Using Diclosan Emulgel may cause the following side effects:
- Serious skin rash with blisters, urticaria.
- Wheezing, shortness of breath, asthma.
- Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and throat.
The following side effects are generally minor and temporary:
- Skin rash, itching, reddening, and skin irritation.
- In very rare cases, the skin can become more sensitive to the sun. The symptoms of this increased sensitivity to the sun are sunburn with itching, swelling of the skin and blisters.
STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Store below 30°C, in a dry place.
