tenoxam 20

📌 COMPOSITION

Each capsule contains: Tenoxicam B.P. 20 mg.

📌 DESCRIPTION

Tenoxam 20 (Tenoxicam) is a non‑steroidal anti‑inflammatory and analgesic drug which acts by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. Its anti‑inflammatory effects may also be produced by scavenging or inhibiting the production of active oxygen radicals and by inhibiting leukocyte chemotaxis and phagocytosis. Tenoxicam is well absorbed after oral administration, and its peak plasma concentration occurs within 1 to 2.6 hours in fasting subjects and in 4 to 6 hours when given with food. It is over 98.5% protein‑bound and penetrates synovial fluid. The plasma half‑life of Tenoxicam is about 60 to 75 hours, and it is completely metabolised to inactive metabolites which are excreted mainly in the urine.
