📌 COMPOSITION
Each gram contains:
Nystatin 100,000 I.U.
Neomycin (as sulphate) 2.5 mg
Gramicidin 0.25 mg
Triamcinolone acetonide 1 mg.
📌 DESCRIPTION
Pandomix is an effective formula used for the treatment of mild to moderate inflammatory skin lesions. It is used as an anti‑inflammatory, antipruritic, antibacterial and antifungal agent. Triamcinolone acetonide is a corticosteroid which produces anti‑inflammatory, antipruritic and anti‑allergic effects when applied topically. Nystatin is an antifungal agent characterised by a specific anticandidal activity. Neomycin and Gramicidin are antibiotics that provide antibacterial activity against a wide range of Gram‑positive and Gram‑negative micro‑organisms.
📌 INDICATIONS
Pandomix is used in the treatment of inflammatory skin lesions, particularly when candidal or bacterial infections are suspected, such as:
- Atopic eczema
- Seborrhoeic eczema
- Nummular eczema
- Stasis eczema
- Contact eczema
- Otitis externa
- Post‑traumatic infective eczema
- Neurodermatitis
- Follicular eczema
- Anogenital pruritus
- Infantile eczema
- Psoriasis
📌 DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION
Apply a thin layer to the affected area 2‑3 times daily. For moist or weeping areas, the cream is preferable, whereas for dry lesions the ointment is more suitable.
📌 RESTRICTIONS ON USE
Contraindications
- Pandomix should not be applied to viral skin lesions, particularly herpes simplex, varicella and vaccinia.
- It should be avoided in fungal lesions not susceptible to nystatin.
- It is not intended for ophthalmic use, nor should it be applied to the external auditory canal in patients with a perforated eardrum.
Precautions
- The use of occlusive dressings is not recommended as it may increase the risk of sensitivity reactions.
- Systemic absorption of topical preparations is generally higher when applied to skin lesions due to extensive burns or ulcerations.
- It should not be used in infants.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation
Topical corticosteroids should not be used extensively by pregnant women.
📌 ADVERSE EFFECTS
- Pandomix is well tolerated. Sensitivity reactions such as burning sensation, itching and irritation may occasionally be experienced.
- Secondary infection may occur with prolonged use of topical corticosteroids.
📌 STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Store below 30°C in a dry place.
