Gavicure

📌 COMPOSITION

Each 10 ml suspension contains:

  • Sodium alginate 500 mg
  • Sodium bicarbonate 267 mg
  • Calcium carbonate 160 mg

📌 DESCRIPTION

Gavicure belongs to a group of medicines called "reflux suppressants". It quickly and effectively impedes gastro‑esophageal reflux for up to 4 hours by forming a protective layer on top of the stomach contents to prevent stomach acid from escaping, which can cause pain and discomfort.

📌 INDICATIONS

For the treatment of symptoms of gastro‑esophageal reflux such as acid regurgitation, heartburn, and indigestion.

📌 DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION

Adults and children 12 years old and over: 10-20 ml (2-4 spoonfuls) after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day.

Children under 12 years: Should only be taken on medical advice.

Do not use in children under 6 years old.

Elderly: No dosage adjustment is necessary.

Note: Shake the bottle well before use.

📌 RESTRICTIONS ON USE

Contraindications
  • Hypersensitivity to any ingredients of this product.
Precautions
  • Caution should be taken in patients who are on a low‑salt diet (e.g., in cases of congestive heart failure and renal impairment), have hypercalcaemia, nephrocalcinosis, or recurrent calcium‑containing renal calculi.
  • If symptoms do not improve after 7 days, consult your doctor.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Can be used during pregnancy and lactation.

📌 DRUG INTERACTIONS

Should not take Gavicure with the following medicines:

  • Tetracyclines
  • Digoxin
  • Fluoroquinolone
  • Iron salts
  • Ketoconazole
  • Neuroleptics
  • Thyroid hormones
  • Penicillamine
  • Beta‑blockers (Atenolol, Metoprolol, Propranolol)
  • Glucocorticoids
  • Chloroquine
  • Bisphosphonates (Diphosphonates)
  • Estramustine

A time interval of 2 hours should be left between taking Gavicure and taking other medicines.

📌 ADVERSE EFFECTS

Very rare: allergic reaction.

If you take too much Gavicure, you may feel bloated and experience some abdominal discomfort. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if this does not go away.

📌 STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS

Store below 30°C in a dry place.

Do not store in the refrigerator.
